Day 12
From Richard Lai
Saturday was a busy day. Sixty people from several different churches joined us for a seminar to introduce equip. Brett and Bob of course did a great job on the presentation. Amy did a great job in presenting the concept of households. Larry organized a funny skit on how the equip consultation works. I had to present a 10-P profile for God’s business. I hope I did not put people to sleep! There seemed to be good interest in equip and I will not be surprised to see several of them join as a client or consultant for the next Indonesia venture in September 2006. We called out to the audience to come up for any prayer requests. The consultants and several of the recent clients lined up in front in order to pray over the individual audience members. It was a powerful time to minister to them.
This was our last weekend in Jakarta so after the seminar we went on our separate ways as several of us (including me) went to a pool party sponsored by a former client. Others had meetings with clients who want to get more involved with equip. Later that night we had to pack up since many of us had flights on Sunday to get back to the States. I can’t believe two weeks went by that quickly.
As I looked back I realized something about stories and how it relates to our calling from God. We heard and experienced many amazing things that God has done in Jakarta. I saw the smashing of a physical idol, experienced a spiritual attack in my dream and saw answered prayers including miracles for the clients including mine. More importantly, I saw how the clients and consultants changed in the two weeks we were there. The more we are close to the frontline and experience God’s work we can testify to His greatness. If we just continue to live the comfortable life, the American dream, we will not experience the joy of life-changing stories that God desires for us. Let us continue to live out the stories for God’s glory.
